Post vs Page?

Writing a post, writing a page -what difference does it make. I have done enough of writing posts on different subject and categories and whenever I tried to do something of this sort on a page I was a flop and failed.This one is a novel avenue where I can hopefully try to gain a better experience, a better feed and a better output.
